Leather corner sofas were very popular in the nineteen eighties and were considered to be a piece of furniture that was only affordable to the most wealthy families. For all other, regular people faux leather sofas were the best possible replacement. Then came the nineties and people were more into fabric sofa, while the leather ones did not have much success and were just not all that wanted by costumers.

It is interesting that it did not take long for people to start buying them again. Faux leather is now a thing of the past, along with fabric sofas. It is yet again time to go with real leather. The shape of the sofa is not important, the colour as well, just as long as it is leather.

One of the reasons they came back to fashion is the fact that they have become affordable to regular, everyday people. Some say that the have not only become affordable, but even cheap. Well the phrase cheap leather sofa is not exactly the phrase that manufacturers are too keen to use as they are still trying to present them as a piece of prestige furniture. But a simple visit to one of the online marketplaces shows that the prices of leather corner sofas start at about 300 GBP, which is more than affordable if you ask me. Some might even use the word cheap.

It is hard to say just what had caused the drop in prices. For sure one of the main factors it the recession, but on the other hand the lack of popularity surely plays a large part in it. Also the imported sofas from Asia have forced the market to adapt. These are all the reasons for lower prices.
